HISTORY

The Hilda Rothschild Foundation (HRF) was established (1995) as the umbrella organization for programs of local development launched in El Salvador.

Community Development Projects:

  • Santa Maria de la Esperanza, Santiago Texacuangos
    (1995-1999)
  • Joya Grande and adjacent communities of the Lake Ilopango region,
    (2000-2011)





GAINS OF HRF PROGRAMS 1995-2011.

I. Empowered women acquired skills for work in:

  • Bakeries
  • Computers
  • Montessori Education
  • Promoters in Education
  • Health Promoters
  • Micro-enterprise administration

II. Children acquired a solid base in education upon which to build their education. Children who attended the Montessori School at Joya Grande usually excel among the best students in primary and secondary school.

  • The health of the community improved through the HRF health programs that were focused on prevention.
  • Improvements in Health and the well-being of the community.
